Initial Evaluation

(60-90 minutes) - this includes a review of past medical history, current medical conditions, assessment of current edema, review of past edema management techniques, education and discussion regarding precautions if applicable. Therapy plan of care will be discussed including frequency of treatment, anticipated treatment duration, discharge planning, appropriate long-term edema management plan following discharge from therapy.
 

Knee high treatment kit.

Thigh High Treatment Kit

Contains 2 sets of bandages for application in thigh high treatment.
 

Arm treatment kit

Contains 2 sets of bandages for application in arm treatment.

Treatment Sessions

(~75 minutes) - this include removal of compression bandages, skin and edema assessments, full sequence of manual lymph drainage, skin cares, and application of multiple layers of compression bandages. This treatment session is intended for the intense phase of treatment, or can be used during the maintenance phase if desired to further improve lymph decongestion.

(~45 minutes) - this length of treatment session would typically be used in the maintenance phase of treatment. The 45 minute sessions will focus on successful transition to home maintenance. In a typical session compression garments will be removed, skin/edema will be assessed, skin cares performed, education of self-manual lymph drainage techniques may be taught, and time will be spent learning how to easily and efficiently apply compression garments. After garments are in place home exercise programs will be taught, practiced, or reviewed as necessary.
