Every year in the United States 36 million Americans fall resulting in more than 32,000 deaths. Falling, and fear of falling affect far more than just those of us that are falling. At The Lymphedema Clinic we offer comprehensive fall risk assessments and provide interventions proven to reduce fall risk and fear of falling.
Red light has been shown to provide a multitude of therapeutic benefits both in the research and in our clinical experience. In our clinic we have seen red light therapy help to reduce neuropathy pain, improve nerve recovery after knee surgery, reduce shoulder pain, improve shoulder range of motion, and reduce back and neck pain. Red light therapy works by stimulating and energizing the mitochondria or the powerhouse of the cell, this causes the cell to do its job faster for a period of time and improves how you feel and move.
As Occupational Therapists we are specially trained to be holistic in our approach, meaning that we think of the whole person, others in their lives, their contexts, their environments, religious factors, etc that impact how a person functionally participates in their self-cares, instrumental ADLs, and life roles. Our team members all bring different strengths and passions with their clinical backgrounds. We are all passionate about seeing our patients progress and thrive.
